Introduction

Water is a blessing and mercy created by Allah for all His creations. It is the lifeline of existence and life itself. Without the presence of water, no living being or creature would exist on this earth. In this episode, we will delve into the truth revealed in the Quran about how all living things are created from water.

Surah Al-Anbya

Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and then We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?

Surah Al-Anbya 21:30

Only with the latest advancements in technology have we confirmed that the basic unit of all living organisms is the cell. Scientific research has proven that cells consist of cytoplasm, which is made up of 80% water. Science also shows that every organism is composed of 50-90% water. This is essential to sustain life, as all chemical processes within the cell require water as a medium.

This natural law applies to all types of plants as well since cytoplasm is a vital component that forms the foundation of cell structure. Consider also verse 45 from Surah An-Nur:

Allāh has created every [living] creature from water. And of them are those that move on their bellies, and of them are those that walk on two legs, and of them are those that walk on four. Allāh creates what He wills. Indeed, Allāh is over all things competent.

Surah An-Nur 24:45

Ayat seterusnya Allah menyebut tentang penciptaan manusia dari air.

And it is He who has created from water [i.e., semen] a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation].

Surah Al-Furqan 25:54

Isn’t it astonishing to think that this man, who could neither read nor write, did not acquire knowledge from any other sources of civilization?

This was no ordinary man. He is our beloved Prophet, Rasulullah S.A.W., who, despite being unable to read or write, was blessed with divine revelation and wisdom by Allah. Through this revelation, he has provided us with invaluable teachings and guidance about life, creation, and the purpose for which we were created in this world.
