Any attempt to refute Islam often begins with the polemic surrounding Aisya’s age when she was united with Rasulullah at nine. The argument is then dropped like an atomic bomb, with fingers crossed in hope that Islam will instantly collapse without realizing the damage towards them are more severe which when being refuted will expose how ignorant and hypocrite they are.

Things are getting funny when the shit bomb is dropped by the Christians wrapped in insults projecting their filthy mindset. Why can’t we just relax and use our intellect that have been bestowed upon us and understand the history and check our backyard?

Before we going far to the ancient time of Rasulullah’s era, let’s go back to 1871 in Delaware (USA) where the Age of Consent was lowered to 7 years old for centuries which prior to that was 10.

One quick question; why on Earth, a casual sex with a 7‑year‑old legally tolerated, yet marriage which meant to protect dignity and pride condemned as immoral?

This is completely a blatant hypocrite.

Now for the Christians who bash Islam using this argument, read this article and slap your own face; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isabella_of_Valois

According to the article, in 1396 negotiations started about marrying six-year-old Isabella to the widower Richard II, King of England (1367–1400), who was 22 years her senior, to ensure peace between their countries. Was medieval Europe a continent of criminals? Or were they operating under different biological expectations, social structures, and institutional definitions? No serious historian claims medieval Europe was endorsing pedophilia. That accusation only emerges when modern observers flatten history into caricature.

Now get ready to be blown away caught between denying reality or justifying corruption. Read on to see what I mean. This article can be used as an answer to educate the ignorant so they can see the reality. However, it is important to deploy this bit by bit according to the flow of the conversation especially in online debate. The first part above is always the best to provoke their intellectual state and make them lowering down their tone like a tamed wild dog.

Did you know that Rebecca/Rebekah married Isaac at 3? Some might call this a BS, let me introduce you Rabbi Mintz:

In the video, he confirming the notion that Rebecca being united with Isaac at the age of 3.

Rabbi Chaim Mintz is not your ordinary Tom, Dick, or Harry. He is a highly respected rabbi in his community and a recognized teacher, mentor, and leader in Orthodox Jewish outreach. He is the Founder and Spiritual Leader of Oorah, a nationwide organization dedicated to inspiring Jewish families and strengthening observance. For over five decades, Rabbi Mintz has guided thousands through his Torah classes, “Ask the Rabbi” sessions, and personal mentorship, becoming a trusted voice of wisdom and compassion in Jewish life.

If someone might be being skeptical with modern and contemporary figure, let me introduce you Rabbi Rashi as alternative.

Rabbi Shlomo ben Yitzchak, best known by the acronym “Rashi, stands as one of the towering figures of Jewish history. Born in Troyes, France, in 1040. He produced commentaries on the Torah and Talmud that remain the cornerstone of Jewish study. His gift was clarity: transforming complex texts into accessible teachings for both beginners and scholars. More than nine centuries later, his insights continue to guide Jewish thought, education, and spiritual life across the world.

So, in his commentaries pertaining the age of Rebecca, he explicitly stated that the age of Rebecca was 3 when marrying Isaac.

Here’s the math;

Genesis 22

  • Isaac is almost sacrificed and replaced with a ram from the heaven. (It’s called Akedah)
  • Right after that, Rebekah’s birth is mentioned (22:20–23).
  • Rabbis assume: she was born at that time.

Genesis 23

  • Sarah dies at 127.
  • Sarah was 90 when Isaac was born. (Genesis 17:17)
  • 127 − 90 = 37 Isaac’s age at Akedah.

Genesis 25

  • Isaac marries at 40 (25:20).

Calculation

  • 40 − 37 = 3

Rashi doesn’t invent the idea. He transmits and popularizes it in his commentary taken from earlier source which being called Seder Olam Rabbah. It’s a 2nd-century CE Hebrew language chronology detailing the dates of biblical events from creation to Alexander the Great‘s conquest of Persia. According to the tradition, it was written by  Jose ben Halafta.

Someone might question, how is this permissible? Well, it is written in their Talmud.

The William Davidson Talmud is the name of the modern digital edition on Sefaria. It’s called that because William Davidson’s foundation funded the translation and digitization project, making the entire Talmud (with English translation + Hebrew/Aramaic text + Rashi commentary) free online. The people involved in the project are all Jewish and they are legit.

From the medieval era to the contemporary world, commentators consistently echo the same tradition: Rebecca was three years old at the time of her marriage to Isaac, whether we like it or not. If anything, for the Christians, Jewish people is their key for salvation and part of the creed as emphasized by Jesus himself in John 4:22.

So when Jesus says “salvation is from the Jews,” he’s not just making a cultural statement, broader than that he’s anchoring Christian salvation in the Jewish covenantal story. The Jewish people are the channel through which God’s redemptive plan enters history, culminating in the Messiah.

Having said that, the Christians COMPELLED TO agree with them.

Rejecting this tradition means admitting either that the people of salvation are untrustworthy or that their scriptures are corrupted. And without the Old Testament, revealed to the Jews, the New Testament collapses into irrelevance.

Wilma Ann Bailey, Professor of Hebrew and Aramaic Scripture, joined the faculty of Christian Theological Seminary in the year 2000. Bailey holds two degrees from Vanderbilt University, an M.A. and Ph.D. in Religion specializing in Hebrew Bible [Old Testament] with a minor in Anthropology, one from Goshen Biblical Seminary “Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries,” an M.Div., and one from Hunter/Lehman College, a B.S. Prior to CTS, she served on the faculty of Messiah College and the faculty of Goshen College.

In her article, she mention “delayed childbirth in the marriage is not to be attributed to barrenness in the mind o f the storyteller but to her prepubescent state. Prepubescent marriage in ancient Israel was practiced when religious, economic, social or political factors warranted it.”

In Jewish Encyclopedia it is stated some urge that children should marry as soon as they reach the age of puberty.

So what is the age of puberty? According to Dr. Karen Gill, it is considered typical for puberty to begin any time between ages 8 and 14. Also, what we can understand here, this phenomenon is still happening now.

It just, the term precocious puberty is being introduced to the society around 1970’s onward using the Latin term pubertas praecox. Before that it was never an issue. That is why, we can see historically many traditions all over the world has the practice of marrying their girls at a very young age.

Also, that is the very reason why Sir William Muir who well-known in Western literature for criticizing various aspects of the Prophet’s life has never condemn or mention anything against Rasulullah’s marriage with Aisya.

Understanding the underlying motivations behind their practices is absolutely vital, especially considering the myriad of influences at play which are religious, economic, social, and political. The concept of pedophilia, as we know it today, simply didn’t exist back then. To impose our contemporary moral standards on the ancient world is not just misguided, but it’s a classic case of presentism fallacy.

It’s going to be a long article to discuss in detail the main factors that contributed to such practice, and they are legitimate and relevant according to their era. However, I wrote an article explaining Aisya’s marriage in detail, and this topic is presented in it.

History is not a playground for presentist insults. What was once a norm in both Jewish and Christian traditions cannot suddenly be weaponized against Islam alone. If medieval Europe, rabbinic Judaism, and even American law tolerated prepubescent unions under their own social structures, then to single out Islam is not scholarship. It is hypocrisy. The real test of intellect is to study history honestly, not to twist it into bombs of ignorance.

Again, if Rebecca at three, Isabella at six, and Delaware at seven were all “acceptable” in their own contexts, then blasting Islam for Aisya is nothing but hypocrisy dressed as morality.
